Old Ledbetter Bridge Spans Coming Down.

Concrete decks removed, steel being cut and spans starting to be dropped on old Ledbetter Bridge.

  2. My Grandfather helped build that bridge. Traveled on it for many years. When it was first built, it was a toll bridge.

    1. My grandfather had the job of lighting the pier lights on the bridge when the old bridge was fairly new. He lived on Clarks River Road and would ride his horse to the bridge to walk underneath and light the lights so boats and river traffic would not hit the bridge and damage it. He once saw Rudd Weatherwax and the Lassie entourage passing beneath him at twilight. His name was Clarence E. Fiser.
